100 Hours Tracking Database
Description and Screen Shot
This database facilitates the tracking of teachers' progress
towards the NJ Professional Development requirements on a school district
level.
It allows for:
· All required documentation of teacher PIPs including approval
signatures
· Analysis of PIPs for design of district staff development
· Tracking of in-service and external workshops
· Attendance records of workshops by teachers
· Approval of workshops as "counting towards the PIPs"
by school administrators
· Date tracking of 5-year window
It also compiles various statistics including the number
of teachers who have completed the requirement, district expenses towards
staff development, and topics of staff development that are most relevant
to teacher PIPs.
Developed in October 2000, this database was presented
at the NJAET conference at Georgian Court College. The presentation
received positive reviews, and as a result twelve schools have expressed
interest in purchasing this database for their use. The ETTC expects
to provide the full database software at a nominal cost of $100 per
district, and is planning to solicit feedback from a group of pilot
districts.
If there is sufficient interest in the database, the ETTC
will continue to expand and enhance its capability. Since the database
is a customized "open" product using Microsoft Access, districts
have full control over changing and adapting the database to their own
needs. ETTC can provide assistance with bringing in existing teacher
records and PIPs on a per-hour fee-for-service basis.
