The Computer Program:

As part of their computer instruction, students in the third and fourth grade were taught to create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. In learning to use this tool, students are developing technology skills for life long learning. In addition to developing valuable technology skills, students gain experience in presenting their projects to multiple audiences. Computer Objectives: Students will be able to design, develop, and present a multimedia presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint. | Students will create slide templates and download pictures of their artwork from a shared network. They will incorporate their written description of their artwork into the slide presentation. Students will download culturally relevant sound clips from the Internet and animate each slide. Students will use the Destination system to present their digital art portfolios to peer, teachers, administration and parents. Taking a multicultural approach to the digital art portfolio project enables the user to incorporate many facets of the NJCCCS. In particular, the multicultural essence of the project targets the NJCCCS standards for Social Studies. The Multicultural Digital Art Portfolio project can easily be replicated using an existing art curriculum. Successful replication of the project would require collaboration between the art and the computer teachers. The computer teacher would need to incorporate teaching Microsoft PowerPoint into the computer curriculum. Students can use their skills in Microsoft PowerPoint to design slides corresponding to each art project. The portfolio would
