Project Services
The Intervention & Referral Services (I&RS) Technical Assistance Project provides services at no cost throughout the year. All public schools, public school districts, and charter schools in New Jersey are eligible to receive services from our staff.  All public schools in New Jersey are eligible to receive services from the I&RS Technical Assistance Project.

Services offered by the I&RS Technical Assistance project include:

  • Providing professional development programs to public school district staff in basic and advanced knowledge and practices for the effective implementation of the functions of I&RS
  • Providing telephone, on-site and web-based support, guidance, technical assistance and consultation services on the effective implementation of the I&RS regulations, the NJDOE’s I&RS best practices and advanced I&RS practices
  • Providing regional, county, local and web-based forums for school staff to network and share information on basic and advanced effective I&RS practices
  • I&RS Technical Assistance website featuring tools such as the latest I&RS news and information, workshop registration, resources for information on best practices and peer-to-peer discussion forums

The I&RS Technical Assistance Project is a partnership between the Southern Regional Institute & ETTC at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey and the New Jersey Department of Education.

Funds for the I&RS Technical Assistance Project, including this website, were provided in full by a grant from the United States Department of Education, Safe and Drug-
Free School Program, through the New Jersey Department of Education, under Title IV, Part A: The Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of the No Child Left Behind Act.
