Variables


Storing a value in variable.
Any string of letters can be used to define a variable. (1,2 or 3 letters)

1. On TI-InterActive toolbar, click New button to start a new document.
2. Click the Math Box Button to insert a new Math Box.
3. For example: Type the variable name num and then type := or Click on the Math Palette.
4. Type a number or an express and the number or result of the expression will be stored.

Checking a variable's value.
1. Click the Math Box button to insert a new Math Box, if necessary.

2. Type the variable name num and press Enter on the computer keyboard, the value currently stored in num is display as the result.

Using a variable in a calculation.
1. After storing a value in num... use num in an expression.
For example: num*2 +3-6, or a^3 etc.
