PowerPoint is a wonderful tool for video conferencing Before presentation have technician connect a computer to your video-conferencing equipment.

To use PowerPoint effectively over video conferencing keep in mind the following tips:

  • Use at least 30 point font type, it can be easily read in classroom presentations.
  • Limit transactions, in the presentation.
  • Use the 6 by 6 rule, no more than 6 lines of text, no more than 6 words per line.
  • Do not overuse fancy fonts!!!
  • Large pictures, at least one third of the PowerPoint screen show best.
  • Allow for plenty of margin space.
  • Watch out for margins, they sometimes disappear over video-conferencing broadcast.
  • Students should be able to read a projected slide from 6 feet away.
  • Legibility is the KEY!!!
  • Limit PowerPoint to 15 minutes.
