Literature Circles Using: eBoard.com

Literature Circles are small, temporary discussion groups comprised of students who have chosen to read the same story, poem, article, or book.

The purpose of this activity is to use the Internet to facilitate the discussions of a Literature Circle.

1. Create an eboard all you need is an email address. Do that by going to eboard.com  (a fast, easy, and free service to create webpages) and clicking on the create an eBoard Button and following the directions listed on the site.

2. Once you have created your eBoard, create add notes for each book, with directions to your students about what is required of them.

3. When your Edit note, be sure to check the box - make this note a chat. Students will be able to access your eboard and post chats on the posted note of their book.

Tips:

  • Typing a URL... in note makes an active link.
  • Make your Read password EASY for students to remember.
  • Change you administration password, under go to control panel hyperlink, to something EASY!!
  • Write down all passwords!! I make the read password the same as the name of the eboard. But all passwords need to be unique.

4. Note: URL of your eboard will be: nameofeboard.eboard.com for example my eboard example is called willson.... so my URL is http://willson.eboard.com
